KalyeSerye, the skit on the street, that changed the Philippine noontime TV landscape and made Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza popular here and abroad is back. The longest running noontime variety show in the country, Eat Bulaga! posted highlights video of the famous segment on its official Facebook page last May 1, 2020. It gives hint to its viewers about the rerun of the episodes that bore the phenomenal split- screen loveteam AlDub.
Fans are rejoicing on Twitter about the return of this most- loved tale that started with smile and a wave which turned out to be 'pabebe' wave. In fact, #AlDubKalyeSeryeAngSimula became top trending topic this morning and still part of the Philippines trends as of this writing.
As a fan, I cannot contain my excitement. I remember those days when I cannot stop myself laughing with Lola Nidora who is doing her best to block the blossoming romance of Alden and Yaya Dub, Maine's character in the series. I followed the show and wake up early in the morning and sleep late at night just to join the nation in achieving millions of tweets for the (porda) love of AlDub. That was an epic online bayanihan that broke records and even recognized by Guinness Book of World Records.
Last April 2, Eat Bulaga! showed parts of Tamang Panahon episode which made Philippine Arena jampacked in 2015 and clinched the record for the most- used hashtag withing 24 hours. It made my AlDub heart happy. It was a relief for me as boredom really strikes during the home quarantine.
Lunch time will be filled again with Dubsmash, laughter, and kilig as people will tune in to hilarious scenes of Alden, Yaya Dub, Lola Nidora, Tidora, and Tinidora.
